Hungarian potato soup (krumplileves)

Ingredients

500 g potatoes (peeled and washed)
100 g smoked bacon
40 g lard (or vegetable oil)
100 g onions (peeled, diced)
1 tomato
2 green peppers
1 carrot and 2 parsley roots (cut into rings)
1 tbsp Hungarian ground paprika powder (sweet)
1 tsp salt
1 carrot
1 bn parsley leaves
1 tbsp parsley leaves (chopped)
5 portions Csipetke (home made Hungarian pasta)

Instructions

1. Take a Hungarian cauldron.
2. Dice the smoked bacon into small cubes and meat and cook in lard or vegetable oil.
3. Add the diced onion and cook about 3 minutes.
4. Now sprinkle the onion with good Hungarian paprika powder, add the potato dices, and the other vegetable parts.
5. Add about 3 liter fresh water and cook about 10 minutes.
6. Add the sliced tomato and the paprika rings. Cook about 10 minutes.
7. Add the homemade "csipetke", remove the parsley leaves and cook the soup at the end about 10 minutes.
8. Sprinkle the potato soup with chopped parsley leaves and serve hot.
